Kyle's Story

Kyle McKearney is celebrating one incredible breakthrough year as Canada’s most award nominated artist across the country in 2022. His debut album “Down-Home” is making waves around the world and has so far accumulated 1.5+ million global streams. The modest debut has been nominated for 14x awards so far and continues to reach new heights.

Kyle’s career really started taking off after winning $75,000 in Alberta Music’s Project Wild. He then took his momentum and profile and started campaigning to raise funds for Food Banks Canada & Calgary, crowdsourcing over $10,000 for Family Day using his cover of “Hunger Strike” that he did with Canadian country icon Jason McCoy. Kyle’s momentum continued to snowball when he released powerful duet “Let ‘Em Lie” with fellow Indigenous country artist, Don Amero. The two penned the song as a tribute to the children whenever made it home, the survivors, and to the families that are still living with the intergenerational traumas caused by the residential school system in Canada. The song was released one-week ahead of National Indigenous Peoples’ Day, with the intention for it to serve as an anthem for the people and a means to empower & heal through the uncovered history. All proceeds from “Let ‘Em Lie” will be donated to National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation. With the help of radio across Canada, ET Canada, Americana UK, Ditty TV, and so many more, the song and video were seen by people from around the world.

Kyle has begun releasing music from his sophomore album and continues to pave a new path for the Americana / Roots / genre. His newest single “Mercy” has been met with substantial support from the fans and industry alike, and is already Kyle’s most successful release to date.
